Michael Arntz

sundays post is for former UCSB ceramic faculty Michael Arntz. I studied with Michael from 1998-2000, and learned some valuable lessons in scale building. Works here are mostly from auction sites and date back to the 60's, when California Stoneware reigned supreme. Michael taught at UCSB for more than 30 years, and built a huge ceramic facility, which has now more or less been closed for seismic retrofit.

Bill Callahan

I just read on the Drag City website, that Bill Callahan will be releasing a new record sometime in 2009. It has been awhile since we have heard from Bill, and the new record will I am sure be worth the wait. The title reads "Sometimes I wish I were an Eagle". Lets hope it releases January. In the meantime, the video "nothing rises to meet me" from the retread sessions in Austin.
