Metal on Metal

Steel and Brass blocks from my Grandfathers shop. I'm not sure what they were used for, in particular the platform, but I think they are mostly material tests.

    They look to be blocks used on a mill for clamping the work piece. Was he a machinist?

    He was an engineer but had his own machine shop which is where these came from. Thanks for the info!
